Baldies' Blog began originally in the UK by a 26 year old journalist with a blood cancer on a mission to inform the world about bone marrow donation.

He has since died, and I took on the cause of making cancer care more transparent for everybody.

Cancer is a disease that will touch everybody through diagnosis or affiliation: 1 in 2 men will be diagnosed and 1 in 3 woman will hear those words, "You Have Cancer."

I invite you to read how I feel along my journey and
how I am continuing to live a full life alongside my Hodgkin's lymphoma, with me controlling my cancer, not my cancer controlling me.

I hope that "Baldies' Blog" will prepare you to handle whatever life sends you, but especially if it's the message, "You Have Cancer."

The little things

X and I have been hitting up the zoos in a big way these past couple years. If we are in a town with a zoo, a petting zoo, animal farm or pseudo-safara you will probably see us there at some point during our excursion. I'm a zoo fan and x has a love for animals. Zoos are a great way to introduce x to the world, geography and what animals exist where. By the age of six, he's seen pandas, lions, tigers, sloth, spider monkeys, lemurs, wildebeast. You name it, he has probably seen it. And what is his favorite animal out of all these animals in all these zoos all over the united states?  The goat, of course. Goats. In every series of pictutes we have where we are at some sort of animal land you will find a picture of x happily petting a goat. This goes back to when he was two.   We have goats near us. Every fair, plenty of farms, you can basically see goats on the side of the road out in the country if you want to, but on all our outings, what does he beeline to see? You guessed it, the goats. I'm trying to talk him into a cooler, exotic animal, like the limur. He has a limur webkinz, they're featured in .adagascar and in their society, woman reign supreme. If this doesn't work out, I'm just going to lay back and be happy I have a child with love for the simple things.
