Baldies' Blog began originally in the UK by a 26 year old journalist with a blood cancer on a mission to inform the world about bone marrow donation.

He has since died, and I took on the cause of making cancer care more transparent for everybody.

Cancer is a disease that will touch everybody through diagnosis or affiliation: 1 in 2 men will be diagnosed and 1 in 3 woman will hear those words, "You Have Cancer."

I invite you to read how I feel along my journey and
how I am continuing to live a full life alongside my Hodgkin's lymphoma, with me controlling my cancer, not my cancer controlling me.

I hope that "Baldies' Blog" will prepare you to handle whatever life sends you, but especially if it's the message, "You Have Cancer."

I AM NOT DYING.

I am not dying from cancer. I am living with cancer. I am LIVING with my disease and will continue to do so until either my cure or my death. I have been very fortunate in the two and a half years since my diagnosis with Hodgkin's lymphoma to have family, friends, and a community that have supported me and my family in facing a very vicious internal battle for my health. I have been able to witness the limitless generosity and compassion of human kind that only seems to present itself in the most dire of situations. I am eternally blessed to have experienced this firsthand in my life. It is a life lesson few of us have the luxury of experiencing . My suffering has not been purposeless. Having cancer has allowed me to truly live, and for this reason, I want everyone to realize that I am living with cancer and I am not dying from it.

I would like to invite everyone to experience my life with me. I would like everyone to see that although I have suffered and will suffer more than most people will in a lifetime, I am living a very happy, full life. I have received thousands of words of encouragement. I have received tens of thousands of dollars in donations. To thank everybody appropriately would never be possible. I am thankful. I will be grateful for the rest of my life. I hope to prove to you that you have invested in a worthy cause. I would like you to watch my life to be assured that your investment is sound. I would like you to know exactly how a situation like mine occurs. My life is an open book. I welcome you to watch and judge. Enjoy my blog.

Hey Hill. We wanted to again remind you how truly inspirational you are; you are, without a doubt, the most courageous individual on this earth. Below are some quotes we came across when searching for a definition of courage that had substance and emotion. The following words could not be more appropriate or in tune with what you are, what you mean to us. Our love for you is unending.

Heather, Allen, and Pierce

“Anyone can give up, it's the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that's true strength.”

“Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear - not absence of fear”
-Mark Twain

“Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, "I will try again tomorrow.”
-Mary Anne Radmacher

“Courage is simply the willingness to be afraid and act anyway.”
-Dr. Robert Anthony

“Courage is the art of being the only one who knows you're scared to death.”
-Earl Wilson
