Baldies' Blog began originally in the UK by a 26 year old journalist with a blood cancer on a mission to inform the world about bone marrow donation.

He has since died, and I took on the cause of making cancer care more transparent for everybody.

Cancer is a disease that will touch everybody through diagnosis or affiliation: 1 in 2 men will be diagnosed and 1 in 3 woman will hear those words, "You Have Cancer."

I invite you to read how I feel along my journey and
how I am continuing to live a full life alongside my Hodgkin's lymphoma, with me controlling my cancer, not my cancer controlling me.

I hope that "Baldies' Blog" will prepare you to handle whatever life sends you, but especially if it's the message, "You Have Cancer."

Dad's Perspective

Hillary has now changed her allegiance from the Yankees to the Red Sox!! She said if Dana-Farber in Boston could get her Cancer into remission she would become a Red Sox fan. She did it.

I just got the news. Her labs all we GREAT. Her CAT scan had some hazy spots which > gave us a mild Heart ache. But the PET scan proved that no Cancer is present!!! She is officially in Remission!!!! Oh what a feeling!!

She still does not have a full immune system. She still will have to be very careful to not catch any sickness. But she won't need to fight off the cancer, it's gone. I should temper my excitement but I'm not going too. This is great news. This is the biggest hurdle she had to overcome with the 2nd transplant. I want to thank all of you for your massive support. I don't think she could have done it without you.

I KNOW I couldn't have done it without so many people pulling and picking us up. We had to stay positive because we didn't want to let you down. The prayers and support we received since she was first diagnosed in April of 2006 have gotten us to the top of the roller coaster!! What a view from up here. Thanks to all of you. Tonight please give everyone, family and friends and big hug and kiss. Make sure you realize what you have. Good friends, good family, Tonight we have our good health. Dream it, Believe it, Live it>> Vic, Nancy, Grace and Patrick, Heather Allen and Pierce, Jon Xander and especially Hillary

The context is always in the eyes of the beholder.
